Presidential Tour Road Biking Full Itinerary

Dates:

22nd to 29th April 2012 for the Pro Race version. Other dates April – October (7 day tour without race day) are available for reduced price- please contact us for info.

Full Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Antalya and transfer Kemer. We assemble our bikes, check over and make any last minute adjustments. We’ll also have a tour briefing, a good meal in a restaurant and hotel overnight . Hotel Kemer.

Day 2: Race Day!
From our hotel base at Kemer we have the morning to relax and get ready for the race spectacle, as we catch the finale of the Tour’s epic 2nd Stage- 185km from Alanya to Kemer. This is a flat stage and a fast downhill into the finish- guaranteed to create some excitement. And with this tour we’ll guarantee you the best places to watch all the action!

Day 3: Goynuk – Finike: 80km mostly flat
Stages 2 and 3 combined- Transfer Goynuk canyon. An easy, warm up day along the coast, getting into our rhythms and enjoying the nice sunny weather! There are enough hills to get the muscles working however, and plenty of gorgeous coastal scenery along the way too! Transfer to Adrasan- a charming, undiscovered bay with great swimming possibilities. Hotel Adrasan.

Day 4: Finike – Elmali Yaprakli Koy: 100Km mountains
Stage 3- Transfer Finike. Beginning at the coast we start on a gradual incline into the mountains, passing superb scenery as the landscape changes. A good road with not too much traffic arrives in Elmali, and then continues uphill, climbing to 1800m! This is the Tour’s classic King of the Mountains day, and the modest 100km is sure to challenge you! Transfer Gokova. Hotel Gokova.

Day 5: Mugla -Turgutreis: 130km hilly
Stage 5- transfer Mugla. Today we pick up the epic Marmaris to Turgutreis stage part way through at the modern, provincial capital of Mugla. The day’s ride warms up gradually, before climbing up over the coastal mountains and descending onto perfect roads past the resort of Bodrum and on to Turgutreis- a charming little place right on the end of the Bodrum Peninsula. This stage offers some fantastic Aegean scenery, and a welcome swim in the clear blue see on our arrival! Hotel Turgutreis.

Day 6: Bodrum to Kusadasi: 160km mostly flat
(Stage 6- Transfer Bodrum. Today we take on a complete stage of the pro race for the first time, covering 160km of good flat roads between two of the Aegean coast’s most popular tourist resorts. Passing by the little known but stunningly beautiful Lake Bafa national park (where we have lunch) the afternoon offers a chance to really settle in to a cadence and cover some serious distance. Arriving at the coast there are again opportunities for a relaxing swim on the beach and of course a cold beer for those so inclined!). Transfer Selcuk. Hotel Selcuk.

Day 7: Ephesus – Izmir: 120km mostly flat
(Stage 7- Again we can ride the entire race stage on this day, following the Aegean coast road from the incredible ancient Greek ruins at Ephesus and finishing at the region’s most youthful and vibrant city, Izmir. Hotel Izmir.

Day 8: Transfer to Izmir Airport, or back to Antalya if you prefer.
