At Middle Earth Travel we have hand picked our professional biking tour guides for their experience, enthusiasm and local knowledge. Our current full time guides include Dervish Kiziltepe, Egemen Cakir and Jon Bawn:

Jon Bawn- Guide / UK Agent:
Jon lived in the Turkish Lake district for two years and developed the first MTB trips for Middle Earth Travel, 7 years ago. After leaving Planet X / On-One in Sheffield (whose bikes he still loves!) he’s back guiding in Turkey again, and working on new routes country ride. Jon has years of experience guiding long distance MTB trips, and is currently enrolled in the MBLA leader award programme. He speaks English, French, and a good smattering of Turkish too and is our UK agent contactable at jon@bikinginturkey.com

Dervish Kiziltepe- Guide:
Dervish is legendary on the Turkish mountain biking scene and has considerable experience in both road and MTB. He’s a key organiser of the Cappadocia MTB Cup international event and has a history in XC racing that stretches back over 10 years. He’s also a really affable, fun guy, and you can be sure to share a few laughs on the trail!

Egemen Cakir- Guide:
Egemen has also been riding with us since the beginning. He fell in love with the Kackar Mountains and now lives there full time. He is the natural choice to guide our Kackar MTB trips, having unbeatable local knowledge in terms of the terrain, wildlife and people of this region. He’s a quietly confident kind of guy- solid and dependable but with a great sense of humour too! He’s also hugely experienced as a trekking guide too.

Atil Ulas Cuce- Operations Manager:
Born in 1973, Atil has been in tourism since high school and he has been leading trekking tours since 1997. He has a B.A. degree in Philosophy and his knowledge of history on Asia Minor is remarkable.  His detailed planning and perfectionism makes his tours very well organized and thoroughly informative. He is also responsible for tour development and operations of the company. Atil is based in Goreme and has an expansive knowledge and enthusiasm about Cappadocia!
