About the Biking:
The Cappadocia region is best known for its rock formations along with its hot air balloon rides on early mornings- to ride beneath a canopy of brightly coloured balloons is an experience in itself! In the lunar landscape paradise of Cappadocia, mother earth created, together with man’s multi-thousand-year-old presence, world-class single tracks. With accommodation in hotels in the village of Göreme as the base, the region boasts the opportunity for a multi-day trail bike adventure on a single track in science-fiction environment for real. Incredibly beautiful nature experiences created for several million years together with human multi-thousand-year presence and the modern human presence creates mystery in every corner. Here the path-god has not saved anything. Cappadocia is simply world-class cycling. Cycling and transport Focus on Single Trail cycling.
We ride for three days and cover the very best trails in the area. If you find a favorite, we ride it again. With us, the local guide, as well as a shuttle bus with a custom-built trailer, comes along so that we can get as much bike as possible downhill and as little as possible uphill. There are some small climbs here and there between the rides so some climbing occurs but the focus is on trail cycling. There may be some longer transport distance. Long beautiful rides, some with technical parties.
Rose Valley 1 and 2 offer breathtaking trails and nature experiences beyond the ordinary. We wind down for the Pigeon Valley and hold our breath as we roll the trail on the Balcony trail (Grand Canyon of Cappadocia).
Some singletrack experience is essential although the tour is suitable for intermediate and improving riders. This is a strenuos programme with technical sections so good cycle fitness and an adventurous attitude are essential! Sometimes technical parts, loose sand and gravel but mostly fairly easy flowy path. A lot of cycling up, as well as transport distances occur, so in some places your lung capacity will be tested. No stress, no rush though.
If you like cycling, you are in paradise! The food The local food is a journey in itself and both breakfast, lunch and dinner give the taste buds a culinary journey. We eat classic Turkish breakfast with cheeses, eggs, olives, fresh fruits and vegetables. For lunch we stop at local restaurants, all with their local specialties. In the evening we eat local gourmet food in the village of Göreme. There is no risk that you will go home hungry. The food is also world class. Bike Own bike is recommended! Full suspension All mountain bike with “dropper post” (raised / lowerable saddle) makes the ride more comfortable. All-Mountain biking is recommended and bike transportation is included. If you wish to rent a bike, only hardtail is available. Of course it works well but not optimally.
Day 1 – Wednesday: Arrival late evening. Transfer about 1 hour to hotel in Göreme
