Accommodation

Where We Stay Matters:

At Biking in Turkey we appreciate the importance of exceptional accommodation and work hard to ensure we stay at places that make your cycling holiday even more memorable. From the finest classy boutique hotels to modest village houses or even camping under the stars, it’s all chosen for a reason!

Boutique Hotels:

In recent years the standard of accomodation options available across Turkey has been vastly improved and today a new class of “boutique hotels” present the guest with a perfect balance of luxury, class, history and individualism. Boutique hotels are often small, family run establishments, often with their own gourmet restaurants. Some are old Konaks (large Ottoamn houses), some are underground caves, some are airy wooden mountain chalets. All are a world away from anonymous luxury of the big hotel chains although the facilities they offer are equally appealing. Here at Middle Earth Travel we have come to love the hotels where stay, and choose only the best places that we would chose ourselves if we were the customer!

Village Houses:

In some of the places that we ride there are no hotels of a fine standard and in these cases sometimes we stay at village houses. These are normal local houses, often owned by the village mayor and his family, who have opened their arms, and their doors, to accommodate our groups. What village houses lack in facilities and glamour they more than make up for in charm and hospitality and many guests find these nights the most memorable of their trip. Note that we always go out of our way to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and yes, you can have a few cold beers even in the most traditional areas!

Wilderness Camping:

On some tours, particularly our more remote mountain bike adventures, we choose on occasions to sleep under canvas. On these nights, the support vehicle will drive ahead of the cyclists and arrive and set up camp so that when we arrive everything is ready. We camp in some of the most awesome places, often under starry skies that you just don’t see in more urbanised areas. This is the true spirit of adventure and wilderness camping is at the mountaineering heart of every member of the Middle Earth Travel team. Rest assured though that we go out of our way to make it as comfy as possible- hot showers, proper beds, bar-be-qued supper and ice cold drinks… You’ll never forget the experience!

  1. Hi Jon,

I’m headed to Cappadocia on June 24th (approx.), am sorry to see you don’t have tours in late June. Are the daily rides available then?

    • Hi Doug, Actually we are very much still open, and our guides are ready and waiting for daily tours! We can open a new group departure on any of the tours you’re interested in, it’s just a question of finding other riders to join you! Are you solo? All my best, Jon

  2. Hi.

Im planning to do a Mediterranean-biketour with my brother in september or october this year.
We would like to know if you have any recommendation, suggestion or offer to this kind of tour.
We are dreaming to travel by bike through the mediterranean coast from Greece to Turkey or from Spain to Italy.
Any info from your expert and expertise side would be great!

    Thanks!

    • Hi Laura, wow… your tour sounds wonderful! We offer tours (both guided and self-guided) along the Aegean Coast of Turkey. We can also offer made to measure bespoke tours. I’ll email you with some ideas! Thanks, Jon

  3. Hi there,
I am looking for a company who do cycling tours in Turkey. I would get the cyclists to come for a 7 – 14 day ride from South Africa. I need the company to share some of the profits in exchange for setting up the visit.
My visit would be free and provide food and accomodation.

    Thanks

    Jim Gillespie

    • Hi Jim. Yes, we’re always looking for high quality agencies to work with. I’ll send you an email so we can get in touch properly. Regards, Jon
